Philosophy
The American brand North Sails creates sportswear and accessories for men, women and children.
The brand has strong references to the sailing world and it is famous worldwide for its sails and garments, made of durable cutting-edge materials, characterized by high-impact graphics.
The N/S-logo brand was founded by Lowell North in San Diego in 1957; the brand has equipped several sailing teams at the most important competitions such as the America's Cup.
It proposes technical items for boats and also sailing outfits, mixing casualwear, US style and metropolitan mood, creating jackets, coats, trousers, skirts, “used effect” shirts, shoes, knitwear, t-shirts, sweatshirts and colourful polo shirts, enriched by emblems, lettering and embroideries, cotton jersey tracksuits, suits, swimwear and accessories, wearable on the boats as well as in the city.
Since its inception, North Sails has been focused on outerwear; the "Sailor" jacket a real brand icon, is also available with fleece padding for the winter; the and more basic designs are characterized by horizontal or oblique stripes or contrasting colour side bands.
North Sails offers three collections, Day Sailor, The Hamptons and Vintage, which are related to each other, maintaining a strong individuality.
The extra-light nylon quilted down jacket, camo jackets and tweed bomber jackets are the latest productions of the brand.
