Concept

Ghiglino 1893 represents the story of a romantic family passion: in 1893 n Via XX Settembre, Genova, founder Nicolò Ghiglino opens a textile boutique that offers high-end english fabrics and becoming soon a point of reference for a british-style shopping.

After Nicolò Ghiglino, the family business is run by his sister's son, Costantino Barabino: the store expanded, as well as the turnover, and Ghiglino 1893 gains more visibility.

In 1950 Costantino's son, Angelo Barabino, decided to take a big step forward offering, together with fabrics, tailored menswear.

A clever move that allowed to enrich the service introducing womenswear from 1965.

The fourth family generation is represented by Alba and PaolaAngelo's daughters, who focused on both men's and women's lines with their own creations, result of accurate research and selection that achieved resounding success among young clients.

The fifth generation is today represented by Alba and Paola's doughters, Anna and Elena who gathered the heritage of their family but injecting fresh air in the ancient family path by opening in Via Fiasella 19a, Genova, Loft 1893, a space inspired by New-York lofts and entirely dedicated to women's fashion.
