Philosophy

Clarks è un noto marchio di calzature di pregio per il tempo libero, nato in Inghilterra nel 1825 da Cyrus e James Clark. Un classico senza tempo del settore casualwear, dallo stile semplice, che diviene un'icona nel panorama del Fashion, sin dal modello "desert" degli anni '50, dal design insolito e autentico.

L'azienda, che inizia come produttrice di pantofole in pelle di pecora, deve infatti il suo successo al fortunato  modello a stivaletto, famoso nel mondo come “desert boots”, versatile e comodo, ispirato agli scarponcini utilizzati dalle milizie inglesi impegnate nel deserto africano contro le truppe tedesche.

Il Desert Boot è una calzatura leggera e resistente, realizzata ad oggi secondo il modello originale, che diviene un cult indossato da Steve McQueen nel film “La grande fuga” e successivamente disegnato ai piedi di Dylan Dog. Le Clarks sono state inoltre uno status symbol, indossate dai giovani durante il periodo delle contestazioni studentesche
