Philosophy
The emerging brand of menswear Andrea Pompilio made its official debut in January 2010 with the A/W 2011 collection.
The designer was born in 1973 and his own brand is the result of the creative atmosphere of Pompilio’s home: his mother is fond for painting and his father is an architect.
Andrea, who grew up in the clothing store of his grandmother, decided to be a fashion designer at the age of eight.
After graduating in fashion design at the Art Institute of Pesaro, he moved to Milan and in 1995 he received his master's degree at Istituto Marangoni.
He started his apprenticeship in the fashion world and his typical Italian sensitivity has been enriched with the international influences.
Andrea has worked for some of the most important fashion brands in Italy, France and US such as Alessandro Dell'Acqua, Prada, Calvin Klein and Yves Saint Laurent, developing a sophisticated style, attention to quality but also a casual and versatile heritage.
In 2011 Andrea won the Vogue’s competition Who's On Next; his focus has always been the classic male wardrobe, almost tailoring, interpreted through new shapes, fabrics, prints and colors.
Garments continually play with contrasts: they are sporty and classic, modern and elegant, they mix sober colors such as gray, blue and white, with bold and lively shades like lemon yellow, green and orange.
Silhouettes and volumes are more classic, but this rigor is constantly being challenged: motorcycle jackets are made of cloth cut in vivo, the classic jackets are worn over nylon garments and double-breasted suits are made of sheepskin.
Trousers are often rolled and colorful match with vests, sweaters or slim jackets.
Ready-to-wear does not give up his masculinity but unconventional, with unusual cuts and colors.
Pompilio has been recently appointed as the new creative consultant for the Italian brand Canali.
