Philosophy
Reality Studio is a german women's total-look clothing brand that does not follow fast fashion trends but preserves a distinctive signature style, which is heavily influenced by other cultures.
Designer and founder Svenja Specht completed her design studies in fashion and product design in 1998. After working in the fields of graphic, product and fashion design, she started her own label in 2005 in Berlin.
Her interest in other cultures and languages brought her for two years to Paris and for three years to Beijing, China, a city she saw as dazzling, lively and a mix between tradition and an extreme fast approaching modernity.
All her experiences bring Specht to design collections that combine multicultural influences with an androgynous elegance which results in very special but always wearable collections.
The materials are carefully selected and are uniquely composed. Refined detailing and manufacturing lead to contemporary pieces with a life long value.
The interest in genuine craft and traditional clothing with its ancient craft techniques and cultural references heavily influences her work: she observes her reality by investigating the everyday, exploring her surroundings and the interactions of people through clothing.
The resulting collections appear as a contradictory mix of appealing elegance, feminine strength and a delicate sensitivity.
Her experimental designs are produced in Germany and are distributed in Japan, China, USA and Europe. Reality Studio has collaborated on projects with artists such as Jen Ray and Michael Kalki and participated at a project of Rirkrit Tiravanija in Berlin.
