Philosophy

Dressedundressed is a Tokyo-based unisex conceptual total-look clothing label which began originally as an underground Tokyo streetwear brand.

Fashion designers and Djs Takeshi Kitazawa and Emiko Sato met in 2006 when working at Candy, an avant-garde, cutting-edge boutique in Tokyo and later established their own label Dressedundressed in 2009 with their first spring summer collection.

Inspired by music and the city's club scene, they put a minimal aesthetic into their fashion, characterized by their trade mark colour, the black, asexuality and high quality.

No matter what the season is, Dressundressed concept is based on dualism, contradiction and antinomy: masculine and feminine, mode and street, future and history, light and shadow.

In 2011 the brand made its runway debut with an accomplished A/W 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tokyo supported by a fashion film directed by the creative photographer and artist Malcolm Pate.
