Philosophy
The Greek designer Urania Giourmetaki founded the niche brand of bags Urania Gazelli in 2010.
These Plexiglas clutches, totally handmade, are produced in Athens , Greece, and they are dedicated to her grandmother, which lend the name to the company.
Urania's creations draw inspiration by a new idea of femininity and practicality, reintroducing the concept of "candy clutch" with touches of futurism.
The designer, who attended the London Middlesex University, has a background related to the industrial design; she focuses on meticulous work processes, and high quality aesthetics.
Urania uses a playful and modern approach, always connected to innovative combinations, adding luxury and elegance to every creation.
The designer worked with her father who designed special furnishings made of Plexiglas, stainless steel and brass; then she launched her own purse label.
She creates unique and luxury craft clutches, strictly handmade, experimenting with shapes, colours and techniques, quality materials and precious finishing, as the gold plated brass.
A strong passion for Plexiglas, declined both in colourful and transparent designs, in order to allow these small clutches to be easily recognized by the populous world of the fashion system.
The range of purses will be soon extended with new collections of shopping bags, bracelets, bangles, earrings, necklaces in a wide range of colours and materials: small, pretty, compact and colourful like candies, these handbags feature square cuts, embellished by golden studs, multicolour iridescent flakes, or even French cards.
High-end clutches are available in the best boutiques worldwide, and also reviewed in the major magazines such as Italian Vogue, Glamour, Cosmopolitan and Grazia Uk.
