Philosophy
Koonhor is an emerging sophisticated brand.
Disrespectful and undisciplined, designers Koon Lim and Catrine Thé were born and raised respectively in Singapore and Indonesia; after the studies at New York Fashion Institute of Technology, they decided to create a womenswear collection, aiming at a bold, charismatic and attractive woman without ostentation and in perfect balance with her masculine side.
They develop a modern and elegant aesthetic, creating Koonhor by their own ideas and instincts.
The Milan based brand achieved a great success thanks to intelligent mix & match of female and male elements.
In 2012 they received an honorable mention by “Who is on Next” for craftsmanship, refinement and continuous evolution, but also for the technical versatile approach.
Koonhor proposes basic silhouettes, classic and refined, made of bold cuts, draping and unexpected details.
Squared or deep necklines, oversize geometric, warm fabrics and luxurious textures soften the masculine lines; as regards colours the brand focuses on “black and white” combination, a dark and sensual colour palette, earthy tones, where henna and navy blue are mixed with forest green, gray and brown.
Garments reveal an extremely refined taste, classic silhouettes with cutting edge details, precious fabrics which celebrate a never ostentatious luxury, for the confident and strong woman who dresses androgynous garments.
The leather and wool outerwear creates a bold and elegant image, viscose and wool dresses follow the silhouettes, giving a strong and sensual appeal.
The poplin and silk crepe shirts and top with squared cuts, matched with stretch wool pants, lend a masculinity twist, balanced and rigorous.
The digital prints, always have a key role within the Koonhor collections, creating reflections and sculpture effects, as in a 3D image, where elements seem disjointed with organza and leather panels.
