Philosophy

Ilaria Nistri and Simone Rafanelli founded the Italian womenswear brand  in 2006; the company aims to women who want to share the passion for the finest materials and unconventional forms, and also the excellence of Italian craftsmanship, always balancing tradition and modernity.

Stilab SpA produces Ilaria Nistri's collections, which proposes rigorous designs and contrasts, sensual textures of fabrics, crafted through experimental techniques using luxury materials.

The brand studies not only the aesthetic harmony but also materials, from fibers to metals, through new and more conscious experimentation.

Apparel becomes a new second skin; not surprisingly, the designer says: "Clothes always excite me: they are part of me, like my skin”

The brand constantly looks for a dynamic tension and postmodern, where rough and intangible elements, such as thirst and transparencies, give rise to unexpected suggestions.

New Gothic forms come out, a dark and poetic mood where the colour’s abstraction does not deny the emergence of pictorial prints.

Guerrillas and combative women, able to protect their own fragility, inhabit this world,

Essential silhouettes interpret angular cuts and deconstructions, telling the many faces of women.

Fragile and strong cuts are in accord with the colour palette: black, for example, the basis of collections, alternating aluminum, sometimes interrupted by dusty tones and pastels, with nude color and earthy nuances.

Ilaria Nistri’s woman feels confident wearing lightweight creations, feeling aware of her own strength.

Ilaria matches super feminine transparencies with the fullness of wool yarn, mohair and silk; she exaggerates with lengths for outerwear and skirts, revealing the silhouette.

Caps and large collars frame the faces and they are conceived as elements of style continuity.

Leather, waxed, washed or stretch, joins knitting trousers and leggings, to recreate the overlays game.

Prints tell the collections’ mood: brilliant meshes, t-shirts and tank tops, geometric patterns transform into draping and follow in a genuine movement of the body.
