Julien Macdonald

Philosophy

The Welsh designer Julien Macdonald creates prêt-a-porter for women; he attended the Royal College of Art, achieving a great success designing the Chanel knitwear collection, ready-to-wear and haute couture at Givenchy.

In 2004 Julien Macdonald decided to devote himself to his own luxury, sexy and ultraglam clothing collection.

Described by critics as "The King of Glamour", Macdonald proposes sequinned party dresses, lightweight knitwear and sophisticated outfits worn by the most popular Hollywood celebrities and the international jet-set.

Julien offers fur outerwear, mink coats, skimpy lace clothes, but also formal dresses and stylish baby-doll-inspired by lingerie.

The typical web design of Julien Macdonald features on oversized cardigans, mini dresses, wool knitted dresses, floating and sexy, derived from lace and tricot bands.

Androgynous items such as equestrian jackets or vintage coats, and more fitness-chic garments which pay homage to the sporty look, such as mini shorts and shiny  t-shirt.
