Philosophy

Oscar de la Renta is a fashion house of pret-a-porter, accessories, jewellery, bridal and furs for women.

The brand was founded in 1965 by the homonymous designer from Santo Domingo; De la Renta moved to Spain, where he studied painting becoming interested to fashion and then he moved to Paris, working at Lanvin, as Antonio Castillo’s assistant.

After years of working with some of the greatest couturiers, Oscar sees the future of fashion in the ready-to-wear; he created his own label, combining  the vibrant colours of Latin America with the charm of European fashion and his innate understanding of the female universe.

The glitzy evening gowns have always been the main characters of De La Renta’s collections; fairy-tale-inspired fluffy skirts, created for the modern princesses,  who do not turn the nose up at technology,  showing valuable "iPad" covers.

Bridal collections remind the opulent luxury of haute couture, with ruffles, tulle bows, lace, bouclé, mermaid tails, wide skirts and sculptural hats with the legendary allure of the XIX century, which have characterized the stunning creations of the fashion house, also appeared in the "Sex and the City" movie.

The designer, a cornerstone of “Made in US”, loved by celebrities, offers fine embroideries, ruffles, bows, sequins, prints and a rainbow of colours on suits “ à la Chanel”, bustier, cocktail dresses, pencil skirts, tailored alpaca jackets, cashmere and silk and navy-inspired outfits.

The garments, proposed in several bright shades such as jade and emerald, ruby, amethyst, emphasize the sensual elegance, highlighting a style that does not go unnoticed, typical of the strong Oscar de la Renta’s character.

Art Deco and Art Nouveau inspire the collections, with their particular patterns.

Astrakhan fur, cinnamon red and purple chinchilla, decorate collars and coats, dresses, jackets, also matched with rabbit or fox stoles, and hats in contrast with necklaces made of precious stones, chic sandals, clutches and tote bags.
