Philosophy
Barbara Bui is the first line of apparel and accessories for women, created by the French-Vietnamese designer who made her debut in the fashion business in 1983, opening her first boutique in Paris at Rue de Turbigo.
In 1987 the designer presented her first womenswear collection, winning over customers and critics, thanks a refined mix of elegance, rock'n'roll style and awareness.
In 1998 the designer launched her second line, with particular emphasis on trousers, androgens and female, that achieved a great success.
In 2000 she founded the shoes and bags collection, and three years later she launched Bui, the casualwear brand.
Mix of designs, fabrics and materials, with an extensive use of leather, contrasts and asymmetries, which create movement and complicated lines.
Different fabric twists are proposed on the same dress; soft drapes meet the leather stiffness, precious decorations of sequins coexist with leather inserts.
Oversized knitting cardigan, sweatshirt, blousons, fur and leather inserts are widely used in the Barbara Bui dress code, including wool bouclette, fox, mink, cotton, cashmere and metal.
Reptile leather stilettos, ankle boots with side zip and strings, metallic leather or suede sandals with glittering stones or studs are matched with large shoulder bags and clutches.
