Sophie Cox is an Australian women's luxury shoes brand designed in Sydney and Made in Italy.
Sophie Cox had an unusual beginning for a footwear designer, growing up in either riding boots or bare feet for long Australian summers.
Her path to fashion was far from glamorous also, as one of only a handful of female students in a four year industrial design course. However, here she learnt of the relationship between shoes and design innovation, inventing a shoe that flipped from a flat to a high heel.
Before she graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2009, Cox won the Drapers Student Footwear Designer of the Year Award and then went on to work for British luxury shoe designer Georgina Goodman.
Soon after, in 2012, she developed a life deep passion for the craft and luxury of Italian made shoes and so her eponymous brand was born.
Inspired by discrete couture, vintage look, film noir and the glamorous style of 80s French fashion photography, her shoes range includes everything from flat ballerinas with grosgrain ribbon to pumps and ankle boots with plexiglass heels.
