Philosophy
Le Coq Sportif is an established French brand of casual clothing and accessories for men and women; the brand focuses on sport and lifestyle, particularly appreciated for sneakers, female retro garments “ a la Parisienne”.
The company, characterized by the cockerel logo, owes its name to the national symbol of France.
The company was established at the end of the 800, by the intuition and passion of Emile Camuset, son of a knitwear merchant from Romilly-Sur-Seine, who has started the sportswear production in the early 1900’s.
Le Coq Sportif, which means “sporty cockerel” has been a pioneer in the use of jersey in sportswear; in 1939 it introduced the cotton fleece suit.
After the successes of the '60s and '80s and a stormy past, the brand back in vogue proposing t-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, shoes and accessories declined in the rainbow colours, playing with “savoir faire style”, simple but refined, full of streetwear and vintage references.
Since its inception, Le Coq Sportif has been the technical sponsor of international football and rugby teams, and it has dressed the Argentina football team, World Cup champion in 1986.
