Philosophy
Lydia Courteille is a French jewellery brand that combines the most unusual materials with flamboyant and theatrical style for unique luxury creations that take a step beyond traditional jewellery.
Biochemist, antiquarian, collector and traveler, founder and owner Lydia Courteille started making jewellery back in 1985, and her scope was clear from the beginning: taking oversized bijoux from bygone years and reworking it with precious stones giving life to one-of-a-kind pieces that seem to have sprung from a tableau, a fairytale or a piece of poetry.
Lydia Courteille's fantasy world is expressed with articulated, metallic rings, bracelets, earrings and collars dominated by incredible and unexpected marriage of atypical gems, golds, tourmaline, purple sapphires, jade, amethysts, opals, rubellite, enamel and cameos decorations.
Each of the collections has it’s own range of cool inspiration such as symbolism, nature, history and gemology.
Lydia imagines the women who will be wearing her jewelry: strong, mystical, liberated and ready to assume, fragile and feminine at the same time.
Notably, Lydia Courteille jewelry has been picked out for various fashion shows by Carven, Alexis Mabille, Prada and McQueen for Givenchy.
