Philosophy
Reem Acra is an internationally known Lebanese fashion label of gowns and wedding dresses known for its attention to detail, signature beaded embroideries and unique fabric combinations.
Born in Lebanon, Reem Acra studied design in both Paris and New York respectively at the Esmod Ecole de Mode of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she acquired several prestigious awards. After her studies and practical design experience, she returned to New York where she launched her eponymous bridal line in 1995 that quickly became recognized for its elegance and impeccable designs.
This success led to the introduction of the Reem Acra prêt-a-porter collection six years later, expanding her repertoire by introducing daywear pieces distinctly modern but marked by rich color, lush fabrics, playful patterns and flawless construction, ranging from understated chic to ornate.
The designer’s gowns became renowned for transforming classic bridal designs with a modern aesthetic through the finest silks, intricate beading and exquisite embroidery of tiny swarovski crystals and seed pearls and appeal to women who are looking for glamour and sophistication on the most important day of their life.
Acra has dressed global icons of style for weddings, red carpet appearances and awards ceremonies; her following includes established stars like Angelina Jolie, Madonna, Catherina Zeta-Jones, Halle Berry, Beyonce Knowles, as well as royal families around the world.
Her prêt-a-porter and bridal collections are carried in some of the world's most exclusive retailers, including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue.
Acra is also a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America and serves on the Board of the Dubai Design and Fashion Council.
