Philosophy

Illesteva is an eyewear brand handmade in France and Italy, in concert with the world’s leading manufacturers of luxury eyewear.

Founded in 2009 by Manhattan-based Daniel Silberman and Justin Salguero, its sunglasses are crafted from an array of materials such as bamboo, buffalo horn or modern acetate and titanium.

The cool styles, incorporating classic round frames and tortoiseshell, blend classic timeless shapes with a contemporary downtown New York aesthetic.

Most recently, the company has launched a line of umbrellas and hand-finished leather goods: backpacks and handbags are made with supple grained leather, combining natural, premium materials with urban functionality.

Illesteva has featured collaborative efforts with Lou Reed, Zac Posen, House of Waris, Band of Outsiders and Dasha Zhukova.

Celebrity fans include Beyonce, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Daniel Craig, Sienna Miller, Solange Knowles, Lena Dunham, Alexa Chung, Elton John, and Cara Delevingne.
