Kris Van Assche proposes ready-to-wear and accessories for men and women:
The Belgian designer belongs to the group of designers which come from Antwerp and the Netherlands, revolutionizing the menswear in the recent Paris fashion weeks.
After completing his studies at the Antwerp Royal Academy in 1998, the designer moved to Paris, where he worked at Yves Saint Laurent and then at Dior.
In 2005 he presented his the first menswear collection and in 2008 the womenswear.
Kris Van Assche proposes a wearable fashion, suspended somewhere between nostalgia for tradition and radical modernism, creating a refined "nonchalant" elegance.
The designer’s work is characterized by an extreme attention to detail, interpreting a chic simplicity that evokes the past.
Its designs are the result of a sophisticated approach that breaks with the "standardization", typical of sportswear.
Driven by an attentive vision of man outfits, Kris Van Assche is moving towards an aesthetic research that discovers a new masculinity, imbued with poetry and authenticity, often mixing feminine and masculine elements.
The minimalist fashion, yet romantic, was inspired by Peru and Argentina.
The collections reflect the desert atmospheres; overlapping clothes, which seem moved by the sun, caftans and colours such as beige and sand.
The opposition and the alternation of black and white is never mixed in the same garment: suits, dresses, jackets, gray sweaters, mat "total white" shirts, but also bags, shoes and beanie with a youthful allure.
The monochromatic palette is broken by flashy and colorful patterns.
