Church's is a British classic and handmade footwear brand.
The legendary brand was founded by Thomas Church in 1873 with his three sons Alfred, William and Thomas Jr.
Their shoemakers family started producing precious handmade shoes in 1675, according to the medieval Northampton traditions.
Church’s workshop became soon an important company of handmade and high quality shoes, the point of reference for best shoe stores, London and Britain upper class.
In the twentieth century, Church's exports its shoes all over the world and it started the woman line in 1921, responding to the bigger role of women in society.
Church’s invents the Goodyear construction, as well as the classic shoe leather line, which join together the performing rubber’s sole to the finest uppers, giving a maximum comfort and shoe’s adaptability.
This new patent allows a perfect resoling.
It takes about 250 handmade steps and 8 weeks to build each pair of Church’s.
The "Adaptable", one of the legendary model, won the gold medal at the "Crystal Palace Exhibition" in 1884; furthermore Church's received the "Queen's" by Queen Elizabeth II, a prestigious prize for exports, in 1965, that officially recognizes the great English company worth with its ancient tradition and international brand leadership.
