Ashley Pittman is an american fair trade jewelry brand that reflects the African culture through its line of stylish handmade horn bangles, necklaces, rings and earrings.
After studying at Northeastern University, philanthropic jewelry designer Ashley Pittman went to Rwanda as a volunteer for a HIV initiative and fell in love with both the country and its people.
Following her dream of creating a line of fully sustainable, African-produced goods, she founded her eponymous line in 2009, working with local artisans: the beautifully bold handmade pieces are a celebration of Kenyan craftsmanship, made from indigenous materials including horn, bronze and East Africa-mined semi-precious stones.
The handcrafted creations have created jobs and sustainable businesses for the rural Kenyan community. In addition, Pitman has created the Ashley Pittman Foundation, which supports Kenyan artisans and donates 10% of all profits to help fund a rural health center and primary school in an impoverished and rural areas.
