Philosophy
Rochambeau is a NYC-based menswear total look collection founded in 2007 by designers Joshua Cooper and Laurence Chandler who shares their love of design and, in particular, their similar vision for men’s fashion with the world.
The creative duo, who met at Pasons School of Design, has built a reputation based around the abstract aesthetics of their designs, as well as the carefully curated layering of the individual pieces – not to mention the dark colour palette that has become their signature.
Impeccably tailored shirting in charcoals and blacks, sleek, sharp trousers, color blocked bombers, hooded parkas: their mix of male boho-chic and urban flair has made their collections quintessential New York.
The Rochambeau man has a laissez attitude of nonchalance in what he wears, effortless wearing clothing and making it a part of their own being.
Since it's inception, the line has garnered critical acclaim and has been selected as finalists for the Prestigious Ecco Domani award as well as the Supima Design Competition.
Their look books have been featured in publications such as WWD, NYmag.com, The Examiner, The Wall Street Journal, The Fashionisto, The New York Times and Ones to Watch and been shown in galleries alongside artwork from Victor Demarchelier and Alexandra Richards as well as at the Diesel "Only the Brave" opening party.
Rochambeau retails at prestigious boutiques around the world, including OAK NYC and Harvey Nichols.
