Philosophy
The Milan based brand Cristina Miraldi was founded by the homonymous designer, who grew up in an embroidery laboratory, among fabrics, sequins and sewing machines.
The designer first enriches her cultural and artistic heritage, conceiving fashion as a form of artistic expression; then she jumps into the fashion industry, graduating in Fashion Design at the Istituto Marangoni.
While she continues her studies, she launches her brand , which will become real after being in close contact with the fashion industry; after graduating, Cristina worked with renowned companies, where she has the chance to specialize in apparel
In 2009 Miraldi launched her first collection, with whom she won "Fashion Incubator", competition of Camera Nazionale della Moda for emerging designers; then she presented her collections Milan, Tokyo, Berlin, Paris.
Vogue Talent chose Miraldi as emerging designer during “Vogue Taents" in 2009, and in 2011 she was among the 10 finalists of “Who Is On Next”, the fashion contest in partnership with Vogue and AltaRoma.
Although still very young, Cristina Miraldi has already acclaimed by national and international press and buyers.
Cristina loves to mix history, literature and fashion, drawing inspiration from streetstyle, real life of the younger generation. Her world is made up of sensations, traditions, contradictions, but also culture and art.
Not surprisingly, collections focus on contemporary time; a deeper insecurity that, at the same time, increases the desire for change, looking for a return of ethics and ancient values.
Miraldi’s mission doesn’t focus on chaos, but on complex intersections of nature.
In contrast to the need for lightness, her embroideries seem arabesques, irregular cuts, indefinite shapes, natural fabrics, carefully designed lines and volumes. Creations are freed from seasonal fashion through a long lasting style.
Collections are constructed, clean and always very feminine, a real praise to imperfection; cuts and forms are irregular, stitching and lengths inaccurate, everything is an ode to the ethereal style, without strict standards.
The high quality of fabrics, their lightness, their delicate layers with refined embroideries, are a fundamental part and they are not a simple decoration.
