Aiko

Philosophy

Since 2010, creative director Cynthia Mittweg designs women's clothing for the American brand Aiko.

The modern concept of Aiko is mainly based on a new approach that reshapes and revisits basic and classic items, such as shirts, sweaters and leather jackets, focusing on oversized sweatshirts, relaxed but luxurious.

Cynthia was born in London, grew up in Tokyo and Los Angeles, she has always been influenced by music, art and fashion, and founded her own label.

Aiko, whose translation in Japanese means "pretty girl", collects designer’s passions.

The attitude of the symbolic and urban-street brand, is characterized by luxurious fabrics, so that these creations tell a different story that the usual niche brand.

Counter current and attractive Aiko shapes many forms, through fabrics and lines, resulting from a completely random point of view.

Sweatshirts, t-shirts, sweaters and tops have nomad attitude, inspired by the desert; garments are for those who have a busy life, comfortable and easy to wear.

Multiple textures embody a neo-grunge style, characterized by monochrome palette.

Collections are sold in the top retailers around the world: Barney's New York, Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Ron Herman, as well as more than 150 shops.
