Philosophy
Akris is a Swiss fashion house, well-known for refined craftsmanship of its womenswear and also for its austere accessories, all created by Albert Kriemler.
With its headquarter in St. Gallen, Switzerland, the brand, founded in 1922, has been family-run for three generations.
Today collections are sold in the top retailers including Bergdorf Goodman, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, Holt Renfrew in Canada, and also in the flagship stores in New York and Boston, and in other ten cities worldwide.
Akris is popular for its minimalist luxury, thanks precious fabrics, couture processes, innovative technologies and modern graphic patterns; the brand mixes these elements, attracting a different target, including Condoleezza Rice, Angelina Joli , and Princess Charlene of Monaco.
The black colour reigns, mixed with tulle embroideries, characterizing bon ton garments, gently structured; romantic jackets, cardigans, horsehair or double-face shirts, long vests or flared trousers.
The avant garde Akris designs aim to a modern and independent woman with a strong but also relax attitude.
When the relaxed side comes out, black turns into beige, leaf green, yellow, orange and white, lace on dresses, capes and oversized long blazers.
Albert Kriemler is influenced by architecture, and often Akris garments are pretentious, but stylistically impeccable.
