Philosophy
A.F Vandevorst is a Belgian brand of apparel and accessories for women.
The artistic couple, and also husband and wife, An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx, met in 1987 during the first day of school at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp.
Ten years later, with their company “Blixa”, the creative duo presents their first A.F. Vandevorst collection in Paris and they win "The Fashion Venus " prize in 1998.
The current A.F. Vandevorst collections propose ready-to-wear garments for a powerful woman, and also a footwear collection, handbags and accessories.
The second line A.Friend by A.F. Vandevorstt is thought with the same creativity and energy as the first line, but with a more affordable price.
A.F. Vandevorst is a booming brand, with a keen eye for emerging trends and a tribal attitude; garments are inspired by the warriors of Samburu and Turkana's tribes.
Seemingly complex silhouettes, made of cashmere and color-block prints, or dark, layered and draped silks, evoke a warrior mood and they are linked to the military world thanks to straight dresses and jackets, with woven leather details.
A cultural fusion, rock 'n' roll echoes and tribal hairstyles, but also asymmetrical hemlines and fringes; these features allow AF Vandevorst to merge together on trousers, boots, peep-toe, belted coats, fur stoles and hats, colorful shades like white, red, turquoise and gold.
Elegant and refined dresses are marked by a vaguely rough twist, makes them even more attractive.
Clothes have an high-impact, a mysterious and minimalist style, but also deeply intellectual, made with unusual fabrics, details and colors, in order to appear absolutely trendy.
