Rafael Lopez is a luxury haute couture, furs and ready-to-wear brand for men and women whose sexy, attention-grabbing designs combine an appreciation for femininity with a hot-blooded Spanish sensibility, the eccentricity of England, the sensuality of Italy and the elegance of France.
Designer Rafael Lopez was born in Aguilas, in the south of Spain, an area profoundly rooted in tradition, in the history, and the artistic and architectural heritageof the spanish culture; his dream begins in his mother’s dressmaking shop, specialized in the production of clothes for local folk festivals.
He moves to Milan, the capital of Italian fashion, where he obtains a master’s degree at Marangoni Institute and collaborates as a designer with important firms in the sector such as Coccapani, Ruffo and Bally; thanks also to his passion for painting, architecture and history of fashion, he collaborates as fashion editor with magazines such as Vogue Italy and GQ.
Rafael wants to grow, to study and to research for his creative development, so he decides to go to London, fulcrum of a great creative movement in art and fashion, where he is admitted to the prestigious Central Saint Martins School of London.
In 2001 he launches the eponymous brand with the first “matador” collection at the London Fashion Week, gaining the attention of the international press.
In his creations, perfect balance between high-end materials and colours, he mixes Latin sensuality with traditional history, yet keeps it international.
The stunning dresses are perfect for red carpet events and fabulous parties, created for the modern women, who are the queens of their lives and rulers of their destiny.
For three consecutive years, designer Rafael Lopez wins the british fashion council “new generation award” and his clothing is sold on a worldwide level: on the Middle Eastern market, the former Soviet Union and North America.
