Brioni

Philosophy

Brioni is a luxury fashion house of menswear and womenswear, icon of precious materials and tailoring details in male couture.

Nazareno Fonticoli and Gaetano Savini founded the company in 1945 opening a men’s tailor boutique in Via Barberini, Rome.

The brand took its name from the Brioni archipelago, in the south of Istria.

This uncontaminated oasis, trendy, an elegant and dandy destination, as the Dalmatian islands, has hosted the European upper class, which played here élite sports such as golf, polo and horse riding.

Pioneer of Made in Italy, important craftsmanship interpreter, Brioni puts, for the first time, man on the catwalk and conquers big American movie productions which land at Cinecittà, the Mecca of international cinema.

Brioni introduced a new male look, from shantung tuxedo to formal suits, the colour is now part of menswear.

In 1957 in Hess Collection, the company proposed evening blazer in a new colours’ palette.

Later Brioni achieves a huge success, expands its production with polished and refined total looks thanks to suits, coats, trousers, ties and accessories.

In 1980, Brioni opened a tailoring school in its Penne industry, to train sartorial artisans and carry on its tradition.

In the new century, feminine collections were born, next to menswear and accessories, and an excellent tailor service to create customized suits.

Brioni man wears alligator shoes and belt, evening blazers and shirts.

Womenswear collection proposes tailored linen jackets, silk dress-scarf, organza blouse.

Brioni wore James Bond, creating for him exclusive items: in "Casino Royale" the Italian fashion house elegance culminates in the second half of the film when Daniel Craig, aka James Bond, wears a perfect black tuxedo during a poker game, with Ottoman silk details, precious horn buttons and grosgrain covered revers.
