Balatt is an Istanbul-based coats, jackets and total-look clothing brand for women made of exotic and special leathers that blends a modern cuts, a classic look with a nonchalant attitude.
Paris born, half Turkish half French designer Liana Kesenci, graduated from Central St. Martins with a graphic design and photography graduation and moved to istanbul in 2009.
Having a natural eye for blending art and design into fashion, Liana got involved in creative art direction for fashion photography projects and started supporting the family business in leather production by creating new designs and concepts in 2011, that caught attention of fashion community both nationally and internationally for her natural and effortless style.
The immense increase in international demand leads Liana to create her ready-to-wear line Balat, named after a traditional jewish quarter in Istanbul.
Drawing inspiration from the contemporary and urban woman, the collection of unique complementary pieces includes shirts, dresses, shorts, biker jackets, bags and clutches, with playful details to surprise customers by using luxury leathers such as piton for a rebel rock’n roll touch.
